A lot of people are surprised by how much a mobile mechanic can do. A lot of people are also surprised when we say a job needs a shop. Here’s where the line usually falls.
Usually a driveway job
- Diagnostics and check engine lights
- Brake pads and rotors
- Battery testing and replacement
- Most starters and alternators
- Oil changes
- Spark plugs, coils and filters
- Valve cover gaskets and common leaks
- O2, camshaft and most crankshaft sensors
- Sway bar links and tie rod ends
- Pre-purchase inspections
Usually needs a shop
- Transmission repair and replacement
- Clutches
- Head gaskets and internal engine work
- Rear main seals
- Alignments
- Jobs where the part is buried and needs the car up on a lift
We’ll tell you which category your job is in before we schedule anything. If it’s a shop job, we’ll point you to one we trust.
What we need from you
- A safe, mostly flat spot. A driveway, garage, or a parking lot where repairs are allowed.
- Room to work. Space to open the hood and doors and get around the car.
- Permission. If it’s an apartment complex or your work lot, check the rules first.
- The year, make, model and engine. So we bring the right parts.
What about weather?
Light weather is part of working in Utah. For longer jobs in a storm, we may reschedule or ask for a garage or covered spot. We’ll work it out with you.
